Technical requirements:
Pharmaceutical Excipients CD-ROMs run on Microsoft Windows 98, 98 SE, ME, 2000 (Pro and Server), XP (Home and Pro), NT4 Service Pack 6a, 2003 Server. A CD-ROM drive and Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.01 or later or Netscape 6 or later are required. It also requires at least a 400 Mhz processor with 96Mb of RAM and 150Mb of hard disk space.
Users are able to collect essential data on the physical and chemical properties of excipients in a systematic and unified manner. All the monographs have been updated with the most recent pharmacopoeial information from the USP/NF, BP, JP, and PhEur and information from the most recent version of the FDA Inactive Ingredients List.
The 2004 edition of the CD-ROM has been completely revised, and includes 20 new excipient monographs and many more excipients included as related substances. Among the 20 new monographs are boric acid, copovidone, hypromellose acetate succinate, isomalt, raffinose, and sulfobutylether beta-cyclodextrin. A revised, updated lactose monograph is now three separate monographs: lactose anhydrous, lactose monohydrate, and lactose spray dried.
The Pharmaceutical Excipients 2005 Single User CD-ROM is invaluable for formulators in the pharmaceutical industry, as well as those interested in the formulation or production of confectionary, cosmetic, and food products.
