CTFA Scientific/Regulatory CD-ROM 2006 is in a powerful, easy-to-use format. It has state-of-the-art search capabilities and many user-friendly customization options. Instantaneous Query Results: Search on any word, phrase or combination of words using Boolean operators (and, or, not). You can also do proximity searching. As a special feature of this CD-ROM, you can limit your search to INCI names, CAS numbers, and EINECS numbers instantly and easily. Also, you can search on other sections, such as Chemical Class, Function, Definition, and Ingredients. Then with a click of the mouse, you can jump to points of information found in the search.
Personal Notes and Bookmarks: You can place electronic "sticky notes" of up to 4,000 characters next to paragraphs in the infobase. The Notes are fully searchable. You can also mark an unlimited number of important areas or points with electronic Bookmarks. These can help you navigate to key points quickly.
Shadow Files: Annotations made in an infobase may be stored in a Shadow File that transparently overlays the original infobase without affecting the original infobase file. Shadow Files can be searched and annotated just like the original infobase.
Cross-Searching: There are 10 infobases locked inside the CD-ROM. Once the infobases are unlocked, most are linked and cross-searchable. For example, you can look up an ingredient in CTFA's International Cosmetic Ingredient Dictionary and Handbook and have the capability to jump to the same ingredient when referenced in either the CTFA International Buyers' Guide or the CIR Final Reports. Cross-searchable links are also made to CFRs referenced within the publications.
