Certification, Availability and Proper Usage edited by Markus Stoeppler Wayne R. Wolf and Peter J. Jenks
This book is intended to be the single point of reference that both guides the user
through the use of RMs and is a primary reference source.
Reference materials have an exactly defined content of selected chemical compounds.
They are used to compare and validate analytical measurements. They are a very
important tool of quality assurance, if chosen and used correctly and are
essential for international comparability of analytical data.
The editors of Reference Materials for Chemical Analysis have taken the contributions of more than 30 reference
material practitioners to produce a highly readable book which starts with
an introduction to historical, theoretical and technical requirements. The book covers
over nine chapters and about 300 pages examining all aspects of RM production, from
planning and preparation, through analysis to certification. It reviews seven recent development areas, examines six aplications fields, and considers the proper usage of RMs.
It also looks at furure needs and organizational aspects and gives advice on availability and sources of information.
